So since I often get the question “what do you eat” I started posting my meals and -homemade- snacks on Instagram. And I have to admit: I love to share them and they are a great motivation to make each meal even more beautiful at the same time! Breakfast is my favorite meal of the day! Depending on my schedule I choose what to eat. When I have to get up early because of work I often eat Overnight Oats for breakfast, because I can prep this the evening before. Will post an recipe of that soon, because I have one that tastes like apple pie.. mmm! When I don’t have to get up early for work, I go to the gym. You have pre-workout breakfasts and post-workout breakfasts. Before working out I eat light with a banana, slice of banana bread, homemade granola or -when there is more time between the breakfast and work-out- I go for oats.
I ate this Skyr with delicious topping after my work-out. Why? Because it’s important to get enough proteins when you’re trying to loose weight and gain mussels! Like with these protein pancakes! Skyr is a healthy yoghurt-kind from Iceland and it’s goood! It’s rich in calcium, loaded with protein and fat free! It’s made of skim milk and similar to Greek Yoghurt but a bit thicker and sweeter than the regular yoghurt. And it contains 2 to 3 times more proteins, so a perfect post-workout meal. Top it off with whatever you like and voila.. breakfast is served! Above I topped my Skyr with a bit of homemade granola, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, dried cranberries and fresh pommegranate seeds.
